(Our new HD Plug-n-Play Paralleling System can power
the new 9kw Arri M90 HMI as
well as 4000W of additional lights)
Hello XXXX,
Of the many benefits to using a Transformer/Distro with Honda EU6500 and EU7000 generators, the ability to use GFCI protection that is specifically designed
for motion picture lighting applications has got to be one of the greatest. Since portable generators are quite often used on or around water (to provide power on boats, beaches,
and around remote lakes and streams) we have designed our HD Plug & Play System to meet not only OSHA, but also the new more stringent NEC requirements (most portable
generators do not).
Shock Stop GFCIs offer the only means of providing reliable ground fault protection
when filming in wet hazardous locations with the new Honda EU7000is
The 2014 edition of the NEC has revised section 445.20, Ground-Fault Circuit Interrupter Protection for Receptacles on 15 kW or Smaller Portable
Generators to include language that requires the use of GFCI devices on all generators smaller than 15kw. What this means is that, as municipalities adopt
the 2014 edition of the NEC, you will have to use GFCI devices on the Honda EU6500is. The code revision has also resulted in Honda incorporating a type of GFCI
that is prone to nuisance tripping under lighting loads on the new EU7000is generators. These GFCIs will also not operate reliably because of the
generators "floating neutral" design. A Full Power Transformer/Distro offers the only means of providing reliable ground fault protection in wet
hazardous locations because they make it possible to use GFCIs, like Shock Stops, that are specifically designed for the requirements of motion picture
production (
use this link for details.)

Shock Stop GFCIs are available with 120V 60A & 100A Bates, as well as
250V 100A Bates (above)
and 250V 50A Hollywood Twist-lock configurations.
To eliminate the problems associated with the use of common GFCIs on generators with floating neutrals, we bond the neutral to ground in our Full
Power Transformer/Distros, which enables the use of 60- and 100A GFCIs specifically designed for use with motion picture lights. Installed inline,
a 60A Shock Stop will provide safe and secure ground fault protection for an entire distribution
system consisting of Bates Extensions, Bates Splitters, and Bates-to-Edison break out boxes - eliminating the need for finicky Hardware Store style GFCIs.

A Shock Stop GFCI with our 60A Transformer/Distro can offer OSHA approved ground fault protection
As part of our HD Plug-n-Play System, a Shock Stop provides a larger GFCI protected circuit than is available on any other portable generator
(by comparison the largest GFCI circuit available on a Honda EB6500 is only 30Amps.) In fact, they enable the operation of even
12kw HMIs on paralleled generators with GFCI protection. Specifically tailored for the type and size loads used in motion picture production,
Shock Stop GFCIs provide reliable ground fault protection for larger lights, or more smaller lights, than has ever been possible on a portable gas
generator (click here for a detailed
explanation of
the new code requirements and how only our HD P&P System meets them
with the Honda EU6500 and EU7000 generators.)

Don't forget that our Full Power Transformer/Distros offer the same benefits when accessing more power on location from common 240v household outlets (use this
linik for details.) Adapters are available that will enable you to plug our Transformer/Distro into common 240V
sources found on interior locations - including Range Plugs, Dryer Plugs, and special receptacles installed for Window Air Conditioners. By giving you access to more "house power" through common
240V household outlets, our Full Power Transformer/Distro can eliminate the need for dangerous tie-ins or expensive tow generators.
Our Full Power Transformer/ Distros offer a number of other benefits when used to step-down the 240V output of paralleled Honda EU6500s or EU7000s. These benefits
include (use these links for details):
To maximize the number of lights that you can operate on our new Gen-set or a Dryer/Range plug, contact us for competitive pricing on the latest motion picture lighting equipment by Arri, Mole-Richardson, & Kino Flo that make up our
HD Plug & Play Pkg. If you let us know what additional equipment you want, we will work up a more detailed quote. Financing is available for orders of more than $5000.00. Please inquire for details.
We are confident that you will be more than satisfied with the performance of our HD Plug & Play Pkg.. Harry Box, author of the authoritative trade handbook "Set Lighting Technician's Handbook" has endorsed our HD Plug & Play Gen-set in the just released 4th Edition of the handbook. In addition, he has established a link from the companion website for the 4th Edition of the Handbook, called "Box Book Extras", to our company news letter article on
"Portable Generators in Motion Picture Production." Of the article he exclaims:
"Great work!... this is the kind of thing I think very few technician's ever get to see,
and as a result many people have absolutely no idea why things stop working."
"Following the prescriptions contained in this article enables the operation of bigger lights, or more smaller lights,
on portable generators than has ever been possible before."

What earned Harry's endorsement is that our HD Plug & Play Gen-set is the first portable "movie blimped" generator/distro system to offer
120A of power capable of, as Harry puts it, "powering bigger lights, or more small lights, on a portable generator than has ever been possible before."
Please let me know if you need any further information.
